Is Soya Bad for You? Myths, Settled

Few foods get as much unnecessary worry as soya. If you've ever hesitated over it because of something you read online, this one's for you.

Myth 1: "Soya messes with your hormones."
This fear comes from the fact that soya contains isoflavones, plant compounds loosely related to oestrogen. But they're far weaker than the real thing, and normal amounts - a tikki, some soya in your dal - have no meaningful hormonal effect in humans. You would have to eat truly extreme quantities for it to even be a conversation.

Myth 2: "Soya isn't real protein."
Actually, soya is one of the few plant foods that's a complete protein, with all nine essential amino acids your body can't make on its own. It genuinely holds its own against animal sources.

Myth 3: "Soya is heavily processed."
Not always. What matters is the product. Clean, simply-made soya foods are a world apart from ultra-processed snacks.

Our mission: At HealthySoya, we believe good food shouldn't come wrapped in fear or confusion. We're here to make high-protein, plant-based eating simple and honest - so choosing soya feels like the easy, everyday decision it should be.
